Environmental Portraits at Louisville Lumber – Louisville Photographer

Today we snapped some Environmental Portraits at Louisville Lumber and Millwork. Over the years we have photographed several projects for Louisville Lumber. Normally, we shoot photos of finished projects for the company. For example, Louisville Lumber has renovated several huge projects around Louisville. These include the NorthEast Library, Woodford Reserve and The Omni Hotel. Louisville Lumber is also currently working on the Galt House remodel.

Environmental Portraits are our favorite type of portrait to shoot. We decided to photograph each team members on location at the Louisville Lumber production facility. In other words, we wanted photos of each person “doing what they do”.

I used Profoto B10’s to light all images posted below. I love using the Profoto B10’s because of their compact size and super easy set-up. As a result, this allowed me to shoot a dozen different location setups in under two hours. It’s hard to believe, but only two strobes were used to light the majority of these photos. One strobe as a key light and another as a backlight. The Sony A7RIV camera provided 61 megapixel images with outstanding dynamic range and tack sharp focus. Throughout the shoot, I used the Zeiss Batis 85mm lens as well as the Sony 24-70mm G Master lens. We had a great time shooting Environmental Portraits at Louisville Lumber.
