The Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade is held on the Thursday before the Kentucky Derby each year. KDF, Kentucky Derby Festival, organizes the parade each year and also decides the theme. “Super Hero” was this year’s parade theme. Local and national brands and organizations created parade floats that fit the overall theme. Marching bands from all over the region made their way to Louisville for the event. The Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade route takes parade participants down Broadway, right through the center of downtown Louisville. I know a lot of folks are freaked out by clowns, so I tossed a few clown shots in as well!

The Lumix S1 camera was used for all of the included images of this year’s parade. The 70-200 F4 Lumix lens stayed on the camera most of the time. The wide angle shots of the Pegasus balloon were snapped with the 24-105 F4 Lumix lens.
