As a Louisville Business Portrait Photographer, we get the chance to meet several of Louisville’s top professionals. A few days ago we received an email from a local law office. Before you knew it, we were discussing options for onsite business portraits. The goal for the shoot was to capture the team in their conference room. The lawyers wanted business portraits that would stand out. None of those weak, smiling portraits would work. When selecting a lawyer to defend your case, you want someone tough. As a result, I decided to photograph the guys in an edgy, editorial way. I didn’t want things too light and airy for this one.
The business portraits below were all shot on my brand new Sony A7RIV with the Zeiss Batis 85mm lens. Two Profoto B10 studio strobes were used. One providing a hard backlight via a gridded octabox. For the main light, I used a Profoto 2’x3′ softbox. Camera was set to ISO 100 with a shutter speed of 250th to kill all of the ambient light in the room. I wanted to have complete control over all light hitting my subjects.
